Kelly Brianne Clarkson (born April 24, 1982) is an American pop rock singer, songwriter, and occasional actress. Clarkson made her debut under RCA Records after she won the highly publicized first season of the television series American Idol in 2002. She was originally marketed as a pop musician with her debut album Thankful (2003). With the release of her multi-platinum second album Breakaway (2004), Clarkson moved to a more pop rock-oriented style of music, and won two Grammy Awards. Clarkson’s third album, entitled My December, was released on June 26, 2007. It went Platinum in many countries, including the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Australia.Clarkson has sold over 18.6 million albums as of 8th of March. Her fourth album is expected in the fall of 2008.  Kelly Clarkson had a bad year last year, you may recall. Her album, called “My December,” was a dud. But before it was released, she wound up in an unfortunate war of words with legendary J Records label chief Clive Davis, who’s also the head of BMG North America. But time heals all wounds. The magnanimous Davis has held out a very key olive branch to Clarkson by including her photo among just a few select acts in the glittery invite to his annual pre-Grammy dinner gala.

We all know that being a music icon easy. People look at you 24/7. And for very famous artists paparazzi are always present to watch their every move. It is like artists are never allowed to have a private time or have even a second of silence in their lives.. That’s why some prefer to take a break from show business and live a quiet life for some time.

However, different stories apply to Britney Spears and The Spice Girls. We can’t deny the fact that these girls have taken a break from the limelight. The Spice Girls disbanded many years ago and Britney took a break because she got pregnant and gave birth to two wonderful children. However both the girl band and Britney seems to be heading for a comeback in show business. Will this be for good? Or just for a moment?

I am a big Britney Spears fan. And though most people criticize her for her music, I still say she is the best performer that I have ever seen. She may not have good vocals like most artists do but her stage presence is just the best and that’s what I love most about her. But where is she now? Where is the Britney that most people loved because of her performances? I see news about her and it just breaks my heart to see my favorite performer in that state. I pray and hope that everything will be well soon and we’ll be seeing more of her, back where she should be, on stage.

Since the show’s debut in 2002, it has produced talents that has significantly impacted the music industry. The latest biz for one of American Idol’s winner, pop star Kelly Clarkson, was that her new album scrapped because the label bosses weren’t impressed with the record. According to reports by the British newspaper the Daily Star, the 25-year-old singer received unfavorable remarks from Sony BMG chief Clive Davis.

I was able to know Rihanna because of her song Umbrella. I think this song gave her a very good break in the Pop Industry. She was able to make her name popular because of this song. I’m sure many people were able to make this as their “Last Song Syndrome”. Honestly. I’m one of those! I was even able to appreciate it more when I heard Mandy Moore’s version. Indeed, Rihanna, from being a newbie pop artist last year, made a big and successful step this year.

I believe that pop music has been very phenomenal and with artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, Madonna, Britney Spears and Justine Timberlake on the spotlight, pop music is sure to grow even more. I have been a fan of pop music myself and I can say that this type of music is very easy to relate with. It covers songs which commonly talks about love, loss, emotion or dancing. I bet everyone can easily relate to these themes. But what attracted me most to pop music is the fact that it really touches my souls and sometimes make me wanna groove to its rhythm. I also have my favorites but of course I’m still open to other artists. As long as the music is great, I guess I can’t help but fall in love with it.
