Lady Gaga’s sophomore album Born This Way may still be months away from being released but the pop superstar and newest pop icon is doing quite well drumming up publicity for her new album.
The best way she could bring attention to her album though is her new single Born This Way. The new single is already gaining a lot of airplay and also praise from a lot of pop music fans. Some critics also have some positive words for the single and are now anticipating what the second album will bring and if it will show a maturity in Lady Gaga’s music. -
What’s With Leona Lewis?
Filed under Pop ArtistsDec 10I am not really familiar with this girl. All I know about her is that she is also a winner of some contest on TV. But I was surprised to hear on local radio that her career is really promising. She has actually been receiving applauses from people because of her talent and album entitled ‘Spirit.’ It kind of intrigued me and made me want to know more about her since I admire good singers very much. And I just can’t wait to hear her songs and hear her vocal power which is admired by many people. When I finally hear her, I’ll know what’s with Leona Lewis that made people like her.

Avril Lavigne’s Girlfriend Song
Filed under Pop ArtistsNov 10Shoot.. would you believe me the video for the song “Girlfriend” has a story. And I thought it was just to represent the song. But anyways, the song reminds me of someone. HRMMMM…
Ok. She may look punk… but lately, she seems like pop. A sell out? maybe, maybe not. But as I came to know, punk is not a fashion it’s a way of life. Right now, Avril is not punk, come on people she’s a fashion punk!
I just happened to browse by AvrilLavigne.com and saw this interesting post, and I began to laugh. Nice one, though.
The hand is quicker than the eye, but the heart…?
Every girl in school wants Dylan Ki. Cute, cool, and so sweet. Sweet enough to get the richest and hottest girl in school, Layla. But there area a lot of things about Layla that Dylan doesn’t know. Like how vicious she is to anyone who doesn’t laugh at her jokes, wear designer labels, or do whatever she says, for starters.
Anyone like Marta, who has the wrong clothes, the wrong friends, and comes from the wrong side of town.
Layla keeps a few other secrets from Dylan, too. And she’ll do just about anything to make sure they stay that way.
Can Marta make Dylan see the truth about his girlfriend? Does it really matter that much to Marta anyway? You bet.
Inspired by Avril Lavigne’s hit single, “Girlfriend,” from her smash album, The Best Damn Thing, this is a story of a girl who wants a boy who’s too good for the girlfriend he’s got.

Fergie
Filed under Pop ArtistsOct 10Ahhh… Fergie, the Fergalicious Dutchess…
I still remember from watching the video for the song “Big Girls Don’t Cry” ahh yes, that song well, it was the time I was hooked on Heroes, that I happen to accidentally stumbled on that video, watching it I was hooked? or not… Then a question popped in my head. “Hey, is that Peter Petrelli?”, yes it is… so I wonder if Fergie would somehow end up on an episode on Heroes. Then that would be dumb then If Peter would absorb her powers, then Heroes would be a musical (hahaha).
What would her powers be, the power of the voice – the power to lull people to sleep, or maybe her “humps” would be her weapon?
I don’t know… but I like listening to Big Girls Don’t Cry, It’s my guilty pleasure, and I’m guilty.

Filed under Pop Artists, Pop Music AwardsSep 10Somehow, they rocked on the first album. I don’t know what happened. They Suddenly went “POP” as in “GAY POP”

Maroon 5 have added to their gold reserves with a Grammy win for “Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals” for their blockbuster hit “Makes Me Wonder.” The chart-topping single was the lead track from the band’s multiplatinum-selling new album It Won’t Be Soon Before Long, which entered Billboard’s Top 200 Albums Chart at No. 1.Comments Off -
CARLY SIMON
Filed under Pop ArtistsAug 10February this year, Carly Simon performed in Cutting Room in New York with her singer-songwriter son Ben Taylor and their pal, David Saw.
It was an intimate live performance, wherein the night had the feel of a Greenwich Village coffeehouse circa 1965, full of songs and innocent fun and none of the trappings of the cynical marketing of acts today. It was refreshing. And all they had were acoustic guitars and a beat box for a drum. The single show was sold out in three hours, with people standing wherever they could find room, where she was joined on stage by her former sister-in-law, singer Kate Taylor, for a rocking version of Neil Young’s “Only Love Can Break Your Heart.”
She and her gang were to the ’70s and ’80s what Alicia Keys, Rob Thomas, John Legend, John Mayer and Norah Jones are today — just more so.

KELLY CLARKSON
Filed under Pop ArtistsJul 10Kelly Brianne Clarkson (born April 24, 1982) is an American pop rock singer, songwriter, and occasional actress. Clarkson made her debut under RCA Records after she won the highly publicized first season of the television series American Idol in 2002. She was originally marketed as a pop musician with her debut album Thankful (2003). With the release of her multi-platinum second album Breakaway (2004), Clarkson moved to a more pop rock-oriented style of music, and won two Grammy Awards. Clarkson’s third album, entitled My December, was released on June 26, 2007. It went Platinum in many countries, including the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Australia.Clarkson has sold over 18.6 million albums as of 8th of March. Her fourth album is expected in the fall of 2008. Kelly Clarkson had a bad year last year, you may recall. Her album, called “My December,” was a dud. But before it was released, she wound up in an unfortunate war of words with legendary J Records label chief Clive Davis, who’s also the head of BMG North America. But time heals all wounds. The magnanimous Davis has held out a very key olive branch to Clarkson by including her photo among just a few select acts in the glittery invite to his annual pre-Grammy dinner gala.

These are my favorite pop artists from number four to ten. They are simply amazing. Most of them already made a trademark in the music industry. They are the artists you can’t simply just forget.
4. Whitney Houston. Her powerful voice is just so amazing.
5. Britney Spears. Though her career is going through a rough road right now, I still believe that she is one of the best performers ever.
6. Madonna. The way she reinvents herself from time to time is remarkable
7. Janet Jackson. She’s just the icon!
8. Christina Aguilera
9. 98 Degrees
10. Michael Jackson
